VISIT SPIRITUALITY & AGING CROSSROADS WEBSITE
Online communities can provide social support and a social network for faith-based communities, get or bring new ideas for best practices among older adult ministries, and contribute to the well-being of older adults. We invite you and your colleagues to visit www.ncoacrossroads.org and actively help launch the Spirituality and Aging (S&A) portion of the website.
Feel free to submit your questions related to spirituality, spiritual well-being and older adult ministries. We have volunteer champions/ambassadors who are serving as resource experts in various aspects of the field of religion, social work and gerontology and ready to discuss ideas and respond to queries.
Get award-winning program ideas from our 2010 Best Practices winners whose abstracts are available on the website. These winners are also serving as ambassadors for the website and are ready to share their ideas.
The library has annotated bibliographies that are categorized, including Social Services & Health Care; Congregations/Spiritual Communities; Educational Institutions; and Personal Interest in Spirituality/Cultural Heritage and Aging. Additional literature resources will be found through links to such interesting resources as Christina Puchalski’s George Washington University Institute for Spirituality & Health (www.gwish.org) , Henry Simmons’ online annotated bibliography for graceful aging (www.gracefulaging.org) or the Journal of Religion, Spirituality, and Aging.
