WORKING WITH YOUNG PEOPLE

The Seventh-day Adventist Church believes that it is important to ensure, to the best of its ability, that the local conference, church, school and programs they sponsor are safe and provide a joyful experience for children and youth. It is therefore important that the church screen and manage trustworthy volunteers of a high moral and spiritual background. This is especially imperative when working with children and young people.  (Seventh-day Adventist Church Manual, 2005)

The following forms and documents can be accessed by clicking on the link below, or going to the appropriate page on the Adventist Risk Management website. These forms and guidelines are created for you and your church to use as needed. It is essential that all leaders and program/ministry volunteers take the time to review the information and fill out and submit all appropriate forms in a timely manner.

All Adventist Community Services centers and projects require a background check for any volunteers who are interacting with children/youth.

If you are partnering with a Pathfinder or school group, the leaders and/or teachers should already have a background check on file. Any questions about this can be directed to your local conference.)
